How it works

How Rodoud handles dialect

  1. 01

    Reads the message as written

Arabic script, Latin letters with 3, 7, 9, French words in the middle, typos and abbreviations.

  2. 02

    Understands the intent

Price, size, delivery, order, complaint: the meaning matters more than the spelling.

  3. 03

    Answers in the same style

Derja to a Derja message, French to a French one, Modern Standard Arabic when that’s what the customer uses.

Built for Maghreb conversations

Generic chatbots trained on textbook Arabic miss half of what Tunisian customers write.

Arabizi with numbers

“9addeh”, “3andkom”, “7aja”: Latin letters with digits are understood like any other text.

Code-switching

Messages that mix Derja, French and English in one sentence get a natural answer.

Many languages

Beyond Derja: Modern Standard Arabic, French, English and many more, including Gulf and Moroccan Arabic.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does Rodoud really understand Tunisian Derja?
Yes. Rodoud was built in Tunis for customers who write the way they speak: Derja in Arabic script, Arabizi with numbers such as 3, 7 and 9, and messages that mix Derja with French or English. It identifies the intent, such as a price question, an order or a complaint, and replies naturally.
In which language does Rodoud reply?
In the customer’s language. A message in Derja gets an answer in Derja, a French message gets French, and Modern Standard Arabic or English are used when the customer writes that way. You can set your preferred tone in the Response Style settings.
Does it work for Moroccan, Algerian or Gulf customers?
Rodoud understands many languages and dialects, including Moroccan and Algerian Darija and Gulf Arabic, so it can serve customers across the Maghreb and the Gulf with the same agent.
What about voice notes in Derja?
Customers can also send voice messages; Rodoud understands them and answers in the chat. See the voice messages feature for details.
